Present in the Pain Podcast

The Second Sorrow of St. Joseph

Eileen Tully

Send us a text

Eileen and Patrick are back this week to discuss the second sorrow of St. Joseph, which was his pain at not being able to provide accommodations for his family in Bethlehem and seeing Jesus born into the poverty and squalor of a stable.

Patrick is hoping to help grieving fathers to place themselves in Joseph's place in these sorrows and to emulate his example in their own experiences of sorrow from the pain of child loss.

Once again, the book that we're using to help us do that is called Befriending St. Joseph: Finding Faith, Hope, and Courage in the Seven Sorrows Devotion by Deacon Greg Kandra.
