The First Sorrow of St. Joseph

Send us a text

This is the first episode in a new podcast series on the Seven Sorrows of St. Joseph that I'm recording with my husband, Patrick.  Together, we'll talk about the experience of losing a child from the perspective of a father, and how men and women grieve differently.

Because St. Joseph is the silent Saint, and we can't read his words, we really need to look to his example to us in scripture, and the book that we're using to help us do that is called Befriending St. Joseph: Finding Faith, Hope, and Courage in the Seven Sorrows Devotion by Deacon Greg Kandra.

This week, we are looking at the first sorrow - Joseph's decision to divorce Mary and drawing on what he must have been feeling so that we can emulate him in our own experiences of sorrow.
