Grief is Complex Series - Ep. 5 Relationship Changes

In this episode, Eileen discusses the changes that can happen to our relationships after the loss of our child.

Changes happen in our relationships with ourselves as we have this experience not knowing what we need or how to navigate our newly-limited capacity for things we once did. They happen in our relationship with God as we may find it hard to pray and to trust Him to meet our needs. And finally, they happen with other people, and this can be yet another secondary loss we need to grieve as dynamics change with our changing needs.

St. Paul tells us to "Rejoice with those who rejoice and weep with those who weep." (Romans 12:15), but not everyone is capable of doing the latter with us. It is very difficult to sit with people in their pain, but it is truly needed, and a real act of love.
